Team Drop Forfeits/Reschedules

Due to circumstances out of the LCSL’s control, there have been an unprecedented number of teams that have had to drop out of the league for one reason or another. Revised Roster Limits

Teams can no longer go “plus one” on the U13 and older rosters, OYSAN will not approve this.

The roster size has changed for U11’s & U12’s, it is now a limit of 14 players.

These limits are effective Fall 2008 and have been set by OYSAN. This is out of LCSL control.

Fall 2008 Reschedule Deadline Passed

The reschedule deadline has passed. I am preparing the schedule to send to the Referee Assignor.

Any reschedule requests recieved from this point forward will be charged the reschedule fee.

LCSL Policy Changes

1) Either team can now enter the score (not just the winning team)

2) The 4th tiebreaker (total goal differential) has been replaced. The new 4th tiebreaker is “Goal Differential against top-ranked common opponent, maximum 3 goal differential per game”

In other words, if 2 teams tie for 2nd place, they would compare their result against the 1st place team. If one team lost by 3 and the other team lost by 1, the team that lost by 1 would be awarded the higher place in the standings.

Reschedule Request Process - Fall 2008

The deadline for submitting reschedule requests is midnight on Sunday night, August 10th.

If you need to reschedule a game before the schedules are finalized, please follow the following steps:

1) Contact the opposing coach and find a mutually agreeable time to play the game. If you do not get a timely reply when emailing through the website, please contact your LCSL Representative for an alternate contact method.

There are 4 new files posted in the LCSL Rules & Regulations section. They are the Modified Laws for each age grouping. These supercede any previous versions.

The old versions can be found in the Archives section and are no longer valid, they are posted for reference only.

Rule Changes And Clarifications

The following rule changes and clarifications were discussed at the July meeting and will be enforced for the fall meeting.

1) Forfeit Wins – forfeit wins will now count as 3 points in the standings, the same as regular wins. The score (for goal differential purposes) of a forfeit win will be marked as 3-0.

First Games – Saturday August 23

Last Games – Saturday October 18

LCSL Playoffs – Saturday October 25

There will be no games scheduled on Labor Day weekend (August 29 – September 1). Wellington, Lagrange, and Firelands will not have games scheduled on August 23 due to the Lorain County fair.

Field Cancellation Procedures - (Weather)

Communities can close their fields before 8 AM on Saturdays and 4 PM on weekdays. If the fields are not closed by this time, all teams should show up and the referee will decide whether or not to cancel the game.

If you decide to close your fields, you should notify (in this order):

1) Visiting coaches (coming from far away and need time to contact their players)

2) Referee Assignor (Joe Blackham)

3) Home coaches

4) LCSL Webmaster or LCSL President
